Bio

Christi Haupt is a visual artist whose creative journey has been marked by investigation across various mediums, including painting, ceramics, sculpture, and mycelium cultivation. Her practice has been influenced by her South African origins, her time in France, where she pursued a BFA at the National School of Fine Arts in Lyon, as well as Mexico City, her home for over a decade.

 

Christi’s interest in science has led her to experiment with oyster mushroom mycelium, which has yielded two- and three-dimensional works by growing mycelium on various substrates such as paper and fabric.
